In 2007 the Carrick Institute embarked on a conceptual review of the direction and development of the DBI Scheme. The outcome of this review is a proposal to appoint suitably qualified persons to establish a set of Carrick Discipline Networks in the areas of:
The overarching purpose of establishing these discipline networks is to provide resources and programs that will serve to enhance the student experience and learning outcomes. This is aligned with the Mission of the Carrick Institute which is to promote and advance learning and teaching in Australian higher education.
The model proposed involves significant distribution of leadership to provide sustainable, on-going, discipline-based development. This strategy locates the leadership of discipline-based initiatives in the sector amongst the discipline leaders where the development and implementation takes place.
